    Math is a subject taught in our schools starting at young age. There are many of children particularly interested in math and catch on to its concepts very quickly. Some children however, have a little more difficulty developing a good foundation and never seem to fully grasp the joys of math. Because the foundation is questionable they can begin to doubt their ability and become bored and disinterested with the whole subject. There are many variables which can cause a child to lose interest and this can lead to difficulty learning math or even reading. The most common problems are visualization, social barriers and anxiety, and math can be a contributing cause for most of these problems. It has been proven that children doing poorly in math or reading have higher stress levels and lower social skills. The biggest problem with this is not the subjects the children are being taught... it is how they are being taught.
